Etymology

[edit]

ní- (comparative) + -∅- (3rd person subject prefix) + -∅- (classifier)-zaad (neuter comparative stem of root -ZAAD, “to be far”).

Verb

[edit]

nízaad

  1. it is far, distant (in space or in time)

Usage notes

[edit]

This verb is grammatically limited to expression in the third person.

This is a neuter verb that uses only the imperfective mode.

Young & Morgan show this verb as a neuter absolute, but in all other instances of such pairs of absolute and comparative adjectives, ní- (comparative) and aheení- (one compared to the other, equally) always designate the comparative counterpart (cf. níłnééz, aheeníłnééz).

Conjugation

[edit]

Paradigm: Neuter comparative (∅), third person only.
