From Proto-Sino-Tibetan *na-ŋ. Cognate with Burmese နင် (nang), Old Chinese 汝 (OC *njaʔ), Jingpho nang and Nuosu ꆏ (ne). Compare Zaiwa nang and Lhao Vo nao.
