Particularly: “Not mentioned by Ratliff at all. Seems related to npauj npaim (butterfly); however, the latter has an alternative form of npuj npaim, which is listed as the dictionary form in the literature, muddying the details. Bears some resemblance to "flat"-type words like nplooj (leaf), Middle Chinese (MC bak, “thin, flimsy”), and especially (MC bjien|bjaeng, “level, flat”).”
