English[edit]
Etymology[edit]
paradoxical (“self-contradictory”) + undressing (“removal of one's clothes”)
Undressing during a state of hypothermia is paradoxical because clothes would be expected to decrease heat loss, which would increase the chances of survival.
Noun[edit]
paradoxical undressing (uncountable)
- Removal of one's clothes while disoriented from hypothermia.
