Verb

[edit]

remanger

  1. to eat again; to resume eating
    • 1997, Laurence Ossipow, La Cuisine du corps et de l'âme: Approche ethnologique du végétarisme, du crudivorisme et de la macrobiotique en Suisse, →ISBN, page 229:
un seul informateur (58) a déclaré remanger de la viande avec plaisir
Only one respondent (58) declared that he was eating meat again and enjoying it

Conjugation

[edit]

This is a regular -er verb, but the stem is written remange- before endings that begin with -a- or -o- (to indicate that the -g- is a "soft" /ʒ/ and not a "hard" /ɡ/). This spelling-change occurs in all verbs in -ger, such as neiger and manger.
