Etymology 1[edit]
From Old Norse sljór, sljár, slær, from Proto-Germanic *slaiwaz. Doublet of sløv, which is borrowed from Danish and of the same origin. Cognates include English slow.

slø (masculine and feminine slø, neuter sløtt, definite singular and plural sløe/slø, comparative sløare, indefinite superlative sløast, definite superlative sløaste)
Etymology 2[edit]
From Old Norse slœða. May be cognate with Icelandic slæða.

slø (present tense slør, past tense slødde, past participle sløtt/slødd, passive infinitive sløast, present participle sløande, imperative slø)
- (transitive) to pull after one self, to drag
- (transitive) to fertilizer evenly
