Borrowed from Japanese 漫画(まんが) (manga), from Middle Chinese (MC manH, “free, unrestrained”) + (MC hweaH|hweak, “drawing”). Doublet of ма́нхва (mánxva), маньхуа́ (manʹxuá), and ма́ньхва (mánʹxva).
