Russian[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Borrowed from Old Church Slavonic храбрость (xrabrostĭ), from Proto-Slavic *xorbrostь. Displaced the native East Slavic form хоробрость (xorobrostʹ). By surface analysis, хра́брый (xrábryj) + -ость (-ostʹ).
