Etymology

Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀫𑀼𑀝𑁆𑀞𑀺 (muṭṭhi) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit मुष्टि (muṣṭi), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *muštíš (fist). Doublet of مشت (muśt) from Persian مشت (mošt).
