Etymology[edit]

From the intransitive form of कोंबणे (kombṇe), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *komh-. Cognate to Hindi कुम्हलाना (kumhalānā), Punjabi ਕੁਮਲਾਉਣਾ (kumlāuṇā), Nepali कुम्लाउनु (kumlāunu).
