Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Old Marathi धंदा (dhaṃdā), धांदा (dhāṃdā), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀥𑀁𑀥 (dhaṃdha), from Sanskrit धन्ध (dhandha). Cognate to Gujarati ધંધો (dhandho), Hindi धंधा (dhandhā), Bengali ধাঁধা (dhãdha).
