Etymology[edit]
Inherited from Old Gujarati कइलि (kaïli), from Prakrit 𑀓𑀬𑀮 (kayala), from Sanskrit कदली (kadalī), traditionally considered a borrowing from Munda. Cognate with Bengali কলা (kola), Hindustani کیلا (kelā) / केला (kelā), Marathi केळे (keḷe).
