- a special letter in Tamil, used to:
- (archaic) represent the voiceless glottal fricative.
- form with consonants to represent foreign or borrowed phonomes (e.g. ஃ + ஜ் (j) = ஃஜ் (z)), equivalent to a nuqta.
- Synonyms: முப்புள்ளி (muppuḷḷi), ஆய்தம் (āytam)
