From Sanskrit प्रज्ञ (prajña, intellectual; wise; learned; clever), cognate with Khmer ប្រាជ្ញ (praac), Lao ປາດ (pāt), ᦕᦱᧆ (ṗhaad). Related to ปรัชญา (bpràt-yaa).
