Noun[edit]
國軍
Proper noun[edit]
國軍
- (historical) Short for 國民革命軍/国民革命军 (“National Revolutionary Army”).
- (Taiwan, military, used by the Kuomintang) Republic of China Armed Forces
Usage notes[edit]
This term is primarily used by the Kuomintang and its supporters in Taiwan. The CPC in mainland China, as well as the DPP in Taiwan use 臺軍 instead, but for different reasons; the CPC does not recognise the legitimacy of the Republic of China, while the DPP considers Taiwan to be an independent country separate for China, and use 臺軍 to indicate that it is referring to the Taiwanese and not Chinese military.
