Etymology[edit]
From Sanguozhi, said by Liu Shan when he was living in Cao Wei after the collapse of Shu Han:
- 他日,王問禪曰:「頗思蜀否?」禪曰:「此間樂,不思蜀。」 [Literary Chinese, trad.]
- From: Chen Shou, Records of the Three Kingdoms, circa 3rd century CE
- Tārì, wáng wèn Chán yuē: “Pō sī Shǔ fǒu?” Chán yuē: “Cǐjiān lè, bùsī Shǔ.” [Pinyin]
- Another day, the prince (Sima Zhao) asked Liu Shan, “Do you still miss Shu very much?” Liu Shan replied, “I enjoy life here and don't miss Shu at all.”
