- Original inhabitants, natives.
- (Roman mythology) The earliest inhabitants of central Italy, from whom the Latins were said to have descended.
- The native peoples of various regions, especially the Australian Aboriginal peoples, but also the original inhabitants of Canada and Argentina. Often considered offensive.
