This phrase appears to be a quote of the phrase "לא נותר ממנו זכר" in 'HaKtav VeHaKabalah Exodus 31:10' available online at https://www.sefaria.org/HaKtav_VeHaKabalah%2C_Exodus.31.10.1

But, as far as I can tell, this is an inaccurate literal translation of that phrase - a more accurate literal translation appears to be: "No remain for him to remember."

According to that version of the translation, 'זכר' appears to mean 'remember' (a verb), whereas 'נותר' appears to mean "remnant" (a noun). Therefore, it seems to me doubtful whether this phrase is a good example for substantiating the claim that the word 'זֵכֶר' means 'remembrance, remain, remnant' (the noun form of 'remember, remain').

I have not found any other source to substantiate why 'זֵכֶר' is a noun meaning 'remembrance, remain, remnant'. GVCabano (talk) 16:10, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

Well, the noun sense is in Klein's dictionary with the spellings זֵֽכֶר and זֶכֶר (last entry in middle column on this page, digitized version), Strong's H2143, Pealim, and Ma'agarim (if I'm interpreting it right). I can't necessarily vouch for the quote being right, my knowledge of Hebrew grammar is insufficient. Are any of the verses listed on the Strong's reference, or quotes from Ma'agarim, less ambiguous than the example from HaKtav VeHaKabalah? 70.172.194.25 16:33, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
