Being 'also' and adverb I wonder whether the accusative ending must be added to the form آخَر, or rather it can be used as such. Any reference would clarify this.Backinstadiums (talk) 09:10, 1 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Yes, entries can be made for each form. Do not put a definition there, but simply link the page back to آخر. For example, see ру́ку (rúku), which is a Russian accusative that links to рука́ (ruká). When you say accusative, I suppose that you mean آخِرًا (ʔāḵiran), الْآخِرَ (al-ʔāḵira), etc. —Stephen (Talk) 11:27, 1 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Backinstadiums: I think Stephen misunderstood your question. Yes, if you use آخَر (ʔāḵar) in the sense of "also" as an adverb, it would be in the accusative case. But if you look at the declension table, the accusative of آخَرُ (ʔāḵaru) is آخَرَ (ʔāḵara) (not آخَرًا (ʔāḵaran)). --WikiTiki89 15:03, 1 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Wikitiki89:Is آخَرَ as an adverb still used in MSA? Could you, please, add some reference? Why is the reason for this irregularity and What other words follow this pattern? Then, is the form آخَرًا attested for another meaning ? Backinstadiums (talk) 15:19, 1 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Backinstadiums: There is a certain class of nouns and adjectives (sometimes referred to as "diptotes") that do not have nunation on their endings and follow a slightly different declension paradigm in the indefinite state (the genitive is the same as the accusative). Elative adjectives of the pattern أَفْعَل (ʔafʕal), which includes آخَر (ʔāḵar), generally fall into this class. آخِر (ʔāḵir), on the other hand, is in the pattern فَاعِل (fāʕil) and has a normal declension with accusative آخِرًا (ʔāḵiran). So yes all these rules apply to MSA, and آخَرًا (ʔāḵaran) does not exist. --WikiTiki89 15:33, 1 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Wikitiki89: Ok. Could you add as a citation a sentece from some aljazeera or wikipedia article where it is used as the adverb 'also'? Thank you so much.Backinstadiums (talk) 15:42, 1 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
