Is this term also used in Chinese and Korean writings? 24.29.228.33 04:15, 28 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Attestable in ancient Chinese texts

[edit]

@Tooironic, would you mind pointing to a source for the ancient Chinese attestation? Ctext is not coming up with any in Pre-Qin and Han. Guoxuedashi at first pass looks to be all imperial. Hongthay (talk) 00:14, 1 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

The question is whether it was used in China before being imported into Chinese from Japanese, and looking at the hits on ctext, this looks to be the case. It may however only be attestable in post-Qin texts. ---> Tooironic (talk) 01:33, 1 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
