Etymology

[edit]

According to the Royal Spanish Academy Dictionary, the etymology of aquí and acá are eccum hic and eccum hac respectively. --anonymous

That may well be the case -- such constructions seem to have been done even in Latin itself, and it explains why it's not "accí" vel sim. -- but the normal form of the Latin word is "ecce". Pipelinking accordingly. —Muke Tever 06:24, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
