Economics definition

I removed the economics specific definition for "contractionary" since it implied that this word exclusively refers to reducing the money supply. "Contractionary policy" refers to policies that slow the entire economy.[1] This can be done by reducing the money supply, but the "contractionary" often refers to reducing growth not reducing the money supply (it's often used ambigiously). Also a number of other policies are considered "contractionary" besides money supply; some of which do not involve monetary policy at all. The term "contractionary fiscal policy" is often used, and it has nothing to do with money supply at all.

An economics specific definition may be useful, but the current definition is very misleading.--Bkwillwm (talk) 18:08, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
