The current definition is "A gambit offered by the black (non-starting) player." I would have assumed that the definition would be something like "A gambit offered in response to a gambit played by the opponent." Consider the Benko Gambit, played by black, which has a response by white called the Mutkin Countergambit. 70.175.192.217 22:47, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
