Kaross is probably either a genuine Khoisan word, or else an adaptation of the Dutch kuras (Portuguese couraca), (Fr. cuirasse, Lat. coriaceus, made of leather, from corium, the original breastplate being of leather). Linguistically, "Koisan" doesn't mean anything. If you don't know which language the word came from, then you can't demonstrate it came from that language. 207.192.243.66 17:40, 23 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
