There are three professions:

Theology, Medicine, Law

Discuss the new meanings but reference should be made to the older one.

The Concise Oxford English Dictionary, to my memory, states, "Especially with regard to the three traditional professions (as above)" or words to that effect.

It will then give more modern examples of usage like those already included in Wiktionary.

I think this would be better if expanded.
