It would be nice to see a less POV rendition of this. At the moment, I've having difficulty thinking of a workable watering-down though. --Connel MacKenzie 01:55, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- It's a tough one. But the nature of the subject is not so much POV as the facts of the case. As you know, Connel, whatever happens to that word now is up to the other players. I hope it retains its true meaning, which is very disturbing. --HiFlyer 02:16, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)
There are a number of other meanings not covered here as well. It mentions a rendition of music, but one can also speak of renditions of other works of art: for example, there are usually many written renditions of stories that originate in oral traditions. The "handing over" meaning is also fairly old and not specifically restricted to persons. That's the most common modern meaning, but in historical contexts one can also speak of a fortress's rendition being part of terms of surrender. --63.249.108.162 17:55, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
