Cannon and flags[edit]

Chambers 1908 gets a bit more specific: "to honour formally by a discharge of cannon, striking colours [i.e. flags], etc." Equinox 23:03, 22 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Also for the noun: "a complimentary discharge of cannon, dipping colours, presenting arms, etc., in honour of anyone". Again we cover that with "any action" but perhaps we are too broad. Equinox 04:26, 27 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
