Meaning

[edit]

Does exist the following meaning of the verb 'shoot': "waste, squander a resource"?

I found this meaning in the article (Waltz D. L., Pollack J. B. Massively parallel parsing: A strongly interactive model of natural language interpretation // Cognitive Science. – 1985. – Т. 9. – №. 1. – С. 51-74.), page 57 (page 7 in PDF). I do not see this meaning in the current version of the Wiktionary entry shoot :( -- Andrew Krizhanovsky (talk) 14:38, 18 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Move a definition?

[edit]

Could someone please move the "photograph" and "film" senses one level up, so instead of being 1.12 and 1.13 (subsenses of "to launch a projectile"), they'll be 13 and 14 in the top-level list? Thanks. 109.66.2.165 10:59, 18 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
