Etymology[edit]

Note that the OED gives the year of Clough's poem as 1849. Might be a mistake on their end, though, since they were using an 1869 edition. It also seems to suggest that this was a development of earlier silver feast and silver jubilee, although both of those also came from Germany. — LlywelynII 05:05, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
