Recovery vehicle[edit]

  1. Is there anything distinctive in a recovery vehicle that justifies there being a separate translation table? I would be eager to merge it. I am innocent of heavy-goods transport (a business that needs to be created under some name for translations, like heavy goods vehicle) and recovery vehicle could be technically a hypernym. I see that Bergefahrzeug is broader than the Abschleppwagen city dwellers know. These synonyms are not real synonyms. One was probably lazy in defining some years ago when creating all these pages.
  2. Is it justified apart from the translations – which are indeed special – to create an entry for armoured recovery vehicle (W)? I incline to see it as idiomatic. @Equinox. Fay Freak (talk) 21:21, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Fay Freak: No idea (I don't even drive!) but I see that recovery vehicle currently states that tow truck is a hyponym, and talks about different sizes. In theory (but almost certainly not in practice!) I suppose even an underwater thing that retrieves sunken ships could be a "recovery vehicle"... Equinox 01:11, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
