Forced spaces and suppressing links

How do I convert the usage examples in เชิญ (chəən) to use this template:

Hi Anatoli. Sorry for the delay. I made the weird symbol disappear. Will the delinking be necessary? At the moment linking to all Thai-script terms is done, with the rationale that readers may find them exotic... Wyang (talk) 06:10, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

Repetition marker

@Wyang

Hello! Could you please enable this template to have a space before (and, when needed, another space after) the repetition marker ๆ without "," in the transliteration?

See the usage notes of this marker for further information.

At present, if you add one space before/after the marker, the template will show no space before/after it. But if you add one more space, a space will be shown and "," will also appear in the transliteration.

For example

• Expectation:

  เรื่อย ๆ มารอน ๆ ทิพากรจะตกต่ำ สนธยาจะใกล้ค่ำ คำนึงหน้าเจ้าตราตรู (rʉ̂ai rʉ̂ai ma rɔɔn rɔɔn, tí-paa-gɔɔn jà dtòk-dtàm, sǒn-tá-yaa jà glâi kâm, kam-nʉng nâa jâo dtraa-dtruu)

Hi @หมวดซาโต้. I think it is fixed - using the "one space before/after" style. A space is inserted before it if the repetition marker is not preceded by a space, and a space is inserted after unless it is followed by a full stop or comma. Please review. :) Wyang (talk) 13:54, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

European Digits

@Wyang, Octahedron80: The template cannot handle words with European digits (possibly other characters outside the Thai block as well) with associated pronunciations, e.g.

1{สิบ} โควิด-19

I found the problem when correcting the misquotation for โควิด-๑๙. The transcription is now stuck with some unwanted spaces, and I am not happy with transcribing '14' and '19' as '14' and '19'. We may have problems with the second number, as in this word I think I've also been hearing it as 'nai-tiin', or even the un-Thai 'nain-tiin'. Some of the issues may be down to the transliteration module. --RichardW57 (talk) 09:43, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

Solution was to add European digits to the set of characters allowed in Thai words in one of the filterings of variable example in function export.usex(). --RichardW57 (talk) 01:13, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

I've spotted a new problemet. For the links to pages, we ought to specify the language. The Thai word isn't always the first entry on the page, e.g. 555 (555). But note that we may also have translingual items, such as 1{สิบ}, and there does not seem to be an easy way of tagging them as translingual. --RichardW57 (talk) 01:13, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
