From Proto-Mon-Khmer *kmət ~ *k(p)mat (gall); cognate with Bahnar kơmăt (gall bladder), Riang kᵊmət (“bile, gall”), Vietnamese mật (bile, gall bladder), Mon ပၟတ် (kəmot) and Khmer ប្រមាត់ (prɑmŏət).
