From lȉstav (related to leaves or flakes, adjective) +‎ -ac. With the same thought also German Blättermagen from Blätter (leaves) +‎ Magen (maw), French feuillet or other languages where the omasum is called “book”, “bible”, “psalterium”, see the translations for omasum.
