ta åt sig (present tar åt sig, preterite tog åt sig, supine tagit åt sig, imperative ta åt sig)

  1. (reflexive, intransitive) to not be indifferent (to criticism, etc.); to not shrug off
    Han tog inte åt sig av kritiken
    He shrugged off the criticism
  2. (reflexive, transitive) to ascribe to oneself
    Ta åt sig äran för något
    Take the credit for something ("take for oneself the honor for something")
