Borrowed from English dragon, from Middle English dragoun, borrowed from Old French dragon, from Latin dracō, dracōnem, from Ancient Greek δράκων (drákōn, a serpent of huge size, a python, a dragon), probably from δέρκομαι (dérkomai, I see clearly).
