Etymology[edit]

A z-prefixed form of varrë, from Proto-Albanian *varsa, from Proto-Indo-European *wers- (to drag on the ground). Compare Hittite [Term?] (/⁠u̯arš-⁠/, pluck, reap), Ancient Greek ἔρρω (érrhō, to move slowly, limp; go away, disappear), Latin verrō (to drag, to sweep), Old Norse vǫrr (stroke), Latvian vârsms (heap of corn, grain).[1]
