жени́ться • (ženítʹsja) impf or pf (perfective пожени́ться) (на (na) + prepositional case)

to get married, to marry a woman, to take a wife (imperfective and perfective)
Он жени́лся на Ка́те по любви́.
On ženílsja na Káte po ljubví.
He married Katya for love.
to get married, to marry (as a couple) (imperfective only)

It's incorrect to use the term when referring to marrying a man, выходи́ть за́муж impf (vyxodítʹ zámuž) (за) / вы́йти за́муж pf (výjti zámuž) (за) must be used instead.
Жени́ться can only have the perfective meaning if referring to a man. To say the perfective of a couple getting married, use пожени́ться (poženítʹsja).
