Cognate with Kazakh санау (sanau, to count), Kyrgyz саноо (sanoo, to count), Turkmen sanamak (to count), Uzbek sanamoq (to count).

    Musa ğələyhi-ssələmdeñ kötöwendə 15 meñləgən harıq bulğan. Kis hanaha, ber bərəs tulmay ikən.
    There were some 15 thousand sheep in Musa's herd (peace be upon him). When he counted (the sheep) in the evening, he found out that one lamb was missing.
