A specialized meaning of unattested *բող (*boł, plant, sprout), from Proto-Indo-European *bʰol- from *bʰleh₃-. The *բող (*boł) can be seen in բողբոջ (bołboǰ, shoot, sprout; bud) and dialectal բոխի (boxi, a kind of bitter field-plant), բոխ (box, tree shoot with buds used as animal feed), բոխալ (boxal, to sprout), probably also բոխի (boxi, hornbeam).
