Etymology[edit]

Borrowing from an Iranian word literally meaning "seeking, desiring justice"; compare Persian دادخواه (dâdxvâh, complainant, plaintiff). For the constituents see դատ (dat, justice) and *խազ- (*xaz-, to seek, desire).[1][2][3]
