Inherited from Common Turkic *kūč- (“to embrace”). Cognate with Turkish kucak.

قُجْماقْ (qučmāq) (third-person singular aorist قُجارْ (qučār))

1. (transitive) to embrace

   اُلْ مَنٖى قُجْدٖى ― Ol menī qučdï̄. ― He embraced me.
