literally "cut around" (compare with परिच्छेद (pariccheda, precise, accurate definition, exact discrimination, literally severing)), from پر (par-), variant of پیرا (pirâ-, around, about), from Proto-Iranian *pari- (around) and سون (sun, to cut), from 𐬯𐬀 (sā-, to cut, to rupture).
