- راه (râh, “way”) + گان (-gân) = رایگان (râygân, “free”) (referring to how something can be found on the way)
- شاه (šâh, “king”) + گان (-gân) = شایگان (šâygân, “royal, kingly, treasure, valuable thing”)
- ده (deh, “village”) + گان (-gân) = دهقان (dehqân, “villager, farmer”) (originally meaning: pertaining to the village)
- بازار (bâzâr, “market”) + گان (-gân) = بازرگان (bâzargân, “merchant, trader”)
- مهر (mehr, “month of Mehr”) + گان (-gân) = مهرگان (mehregân, “Mehregan, a Persian celebration that takes place in the month of Mehr”)
