Borrowed from Classical Persian مصالح (maṣālih, “materials; spices”), plural of Arabic مَصْلَحَة (maṣlaḥa). Compare Assamese মচলা (mosola), Bengali মশলা (mosla), Santali ᱢᱚᱥᱞᱟ (môsla).
