Ancient Greek[edit]
Alternative forms[edit]
- ἔρυσος (érusos)
Etymology[edit]
Traditionally derived from ἀρύω (arúō, “to draw water”), but it is improbable. In view of the suffix and the vowel variation "α/ε", the word is probably of Pre-Greek origin.
