Ancient Greek[edit]
Alternative forms[edit]
- ἄστλιγξ (ástlinx)
Etymology[edit]
The formation is similar to θῶμιγξ (thôminx), ἶλιγξ (îlinx) and στρόφιγξ (stróphinx). The presence of the variant shows that the word is from Pre-Greek.
