     指頭大(しとうだい)の天女(てんにょ)の唇(くちびる)に桃色(ももいろ)の色(いろ)が塗(ぬ)ってあったが、これも長年月(ちょうねんげつ)の変色(へんしょく)が加(くわ)わっていて、どうしても現代(げんだい)の絵具(えのぐ)では、その色(いろ)が出(で)ない。

     Shitō-dai no tennyo no kuchibiru ni momoiro no iro ga nutte atta ga, kore mo chōnengetsu no henshoku ga kuwawatte ite, dō shite mo gendai no enogu de wa, sono iro ga denai.

     The heavenly maiden’s fingertip-sized lips had been painted with a pink color, but this too has accumulated many years of discoloration, and that color simply cannot be brought out with modern paints.
