Etymology[edit]
Compare Proto-Mongolic *bol- (“to become”), Khitan 𘮧𘯶 (*p o, “to become, appoint”) and Proto-Uralic *wole- (“to be”). Karakhanid, Bulgar and Turkmen forms point to a short vowel instead.
