You aren’t even supposed to follow Hans Wehr blindly but rather add meanings you know yourself. This is not Wikipedia. The other IP is a native Saudi and does not need to know or care what’s inside Wehr, just to know Arabic well.

Indeed there isn’t a restriction to literary Arabic. But a label {{lb|ar|colloquial}} or {{lb|ar|dialectal}} would be appropriate. Many things Wehr include stretch the limit of what can be under a header “Arabic”. It also includes words like جَبَس (jabas) which I preferred to add under “North Levantine Arabic”. There are things that are specific to dialects but if something is in multiple dialects and not too ordinary one can also add it under “Arabic” since it is the Dachsprache. There is no clear line between dialect and Hochsprache, the latter always has intersection with dialect. Fay Freak (talk) 13:12, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
