Wouldn't it be better semantically to connect this word to *ser 'to bind', and ἕρκος 'fence' to idem. in the meaning 'to guard'? Or is there some link between this root and the root *serk- ? IDK, maybe there are complications with this. AntiquatedMan (talk) 10:45, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
